  • Features: The most versatile type, allowing direct access to each pallet. Each location is independent, facilitating organization and inventory control.
  • Advantages: Great flexibility, high product turnover, easy access to any pallet.
  • Disadvantages: Occupies more space than other storage systems.
  • Ideal for: Warehouses with a wide variety of products and high turnover.

  1. Push-Back Racking:

  • Features: Operates by gravity. Pallets are inserted from one side and move to the back as new pallets are introduced. Extraction is done from the same side.
  • Advantages: High storage density, FIFO (First In, First Out).
  • Disadvantages: Limited access to older pallets, requires careful load management.
  • Ideal for: High-volume products with moderate turnover, such as beverages or packaged goods.

  1. Drive-In Racking:

  • Features: Pallets are stored in depth, one behind the other. Access is through a central aisle.
  • Advantages: High storage density, ideal for high-volume, low-turnover products.
  • Disadvantages: Limited access to the deepest pallets, LIFO (Last In, First Out).

  1. Cantilever Racking:

  • Features: Designed to store long or bulky products, such as tubes, profiles, or wood. They have no rear beams, allowing full access to the load.
